Iranian threats over Gaza keep USS Truman carrier in Mediterranean

"The USS Harry S. Truman carrier, complete with its strike group of 60 warplanes and 6,000 seamen, has been ordered to turn course from the Persian Gulf and deploy with the US Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean for the time being, DEBKAfile's military and Washington sources report. The administration's decision was prompted by incoming intelligence attesting to heightened marine and military tensions between Israel, Turkey and Iran, in the wake of the Turkish premier Recep Erdogan's determination to give his screws on Israel another turn - or two."

"Victoria Kolakowski, who's running for Alameda Count Superior Court judge in a November runoff election, declares on her campaign Web site that she hopes to make history.

Turkey to erect monument for nine dead in Gaza aid flotilla incident

"ISTANBUL, TURKEY (BNO NEWS) –- A monument will be erected in Uskudar district in Istanbul, Turkey, to commemorate the nine people who were killed aboard the Gaza-bound ship Mavi Marmara, Turkish media reported on Wednesday.
The monument will be a prototype of the ship which was attacked by the Israeli Navy after when the aid flotilla was trying to reach the Gaza strip. The commemorative monument will be erected at the Beskitas Ferry Port, according to Anatolian news agency."
